Architectural lighting at Château Chasse-Spleen

Architectural lighting at Château Chasse-Spleen

Médoc, France

Château Chasse-Spleen is a 107-hectare vineyard in Moulis-en-Médoc in Gironde. It is an AOC Moulis-en-Médoc, which is part of the exceptional crus bourgeois classification. Sunna Design’s iSSL Maxi Road solar streetlights with motion sensors were installed in order to meet the architectural lighting needs of the site’s parking lot, in compliance with environmental requirements.

A château undergoing major changes

Château Chasse-Spleen

As part of the creation of a parking lot designed to welcome the château’s visitors and customers, Château Chasse-Spleen,  contacted us in order to carry out a feasibility study of the parking’s lot lighting with solar lights, in line with the owners’ desire to reduce their energy footprint.

Architects Oriane DEVILLE and Céline PETREAU carried out the architectural development of the site with the aim of transforming the wine estate into a multidisciplinary space with a strong focus on culture.

As part of the site’s transformation, the owners of the estate realized that the site could also host other activities. As art lovers, they decided to make the château a place of culture.

A well thought-out architecture

Château Chasse-Spleen

Various developments were carried out to transform the site including landscaping, building ponds, installing artwork, and opening up the winery.

The environmental section of the project included building a solar farm on an agricultural building and bringing the vines up to meet HVE3 standards (high environmental value 3).

The overall project was carried out with the aim of creating a continuity between the interior and exterior spaces of the château while keeping the site uncluttered, stylish and modern.

Efficient and considerate lighting

Château Chasse-Spleen

In order to provide efficient lighting to the site’s car park while staying true to its environmental commitment, Château Chasse-Spleen selected Sunna Design’s autonomous and intelligent streetlights whose design blends in seamlessly into the existing environment.

To respond to the specific lighting needs of the château, Sunna Sunna Design supplied the iSSL Maxi Road solar streetlight with motion sensor. With its intelligent lighting program and motion detection feature, this solution makes it possible to optimize the lighting intensity according to the client’s needs, as well as keep light pollution to a minimum, thus complying fully with the project requirements.
