THE CHALLENGES OF A SUSTAINABLE AND DESIRABLE CITY
Today 54% of the population lives in urban areas, in 2050 perhaps they will be 80%.
In our Western countries we have access to electricity, but we are facing an increase in the cost of fossil fuels. Global pollution, rising temperatures and extreme weather events such as Hurricane Florence are just a few examples of climate change. At Sunna Design, we like to think that our products such as our solar or hybrid urban lighting solutions contribute to solving these problems. We are inspired by the idea of public solar lighting solutions in the main Spanish cities focused on the well-being of their citizens.
HYBRID LIGHTING SOLUTIONS
For smart, elegant and connected cities
SIARQ’s hybrid lighting products for intelligent, elegant and connected cities integrate SUNNA DESIGN’s technological core SUNNAcore, the solar energy intelligence on which third-party applications provide services to all Spanish citizens. The intelligent and connected candelabras are exceptionally designed by Alessandro Caviasca of SIARQ lamp posts inspired by tulips. Sunna Design’s LED modules are controlled and positioned for uniform circular light diffusion.
ADVANTAGES OF HYBRID LIGHTING
A battery managed exclusively by photovoltaic panels
The main competitive advantage is the maximum preservation of solar energy charging, the battery being managed exclusively by photovoltaic panels. The sustainable balance sheet is therefore unique when all our competitors recharge batteries through the network! This reduced carbon footprint complements our intelligent and connected street furniture solutions, which natively have other advantages such as unique resistance to strong thermal variations and maintenance-free durability for 15 years. This hybrid lighting system therefore offers the highest possible service guarantee (network failure or prolonged bad weather).
THE SMART CITY FOR SUNNA DESIGN
5 essential functions of urban life
Housing, work/produce, food and supplies, health care, access to education and culture, entertainment. To which we must associate the 3 fundamental states of Man: he and his well-being, he and his environment, he and others.
As human beings, if urban space allows us to access these 5 essential functions and to respond to our 3 fundamental states, then the city will have successfully made its technological transition with human life within it. From this point on, the challenges of the smart city are very clear: a social challenge, an economic, civic, environmental and resilience challenge. The city, life, with envy… with Sunna Design’s intelligent and connected solar street lighting solutions as the backbone of tomorrow’s cities.
