In Chile, solar lighting brings kindergartens into the future

 

Chile is on the fast track to reach its goal of up to 70% renewable energy by 2050. Converting public lighting systems is the part of the equation that can be done right now. In fact, ​SUNNA Design​ did it in… six weeks?

In compliance with the highest standards

 

The Chilean national board of kindergartens – Junta Nacional de Jardines Infantiles – ​JUNJI​ – issued a plan requiring the conversion of 22 sites to autonomous outdoor solar lighting in about six weeks back in september of 2019.

 

The specification required that each light source would operate down to 20 watts while being able to shine up to 2300 lumens when required. All implantations were located in south Chile where changing weather and heavy clouding are not optimal for photovoltaic electricity.

An agile installation

 

Together with our partner for South America ​JEMO​ we managed air logistics up to get 45 of our iSSL+ lamp posts units built and delivered on site. Here, SUNNA Design’s extreme specifications comes to help as the NiMH batteries we use are the only kind that can travel on air freight. Installing 45 units on 22 sites in about four weeks up to the end of october 2019 was achieved with ease as our systems require no groundwork and minimal setup.
