Home Solar lighting blog Case studies Simplified logistics and refined design appeal to a mall in Algiers
Opened on April 27, 2021, the Garden City shopping mall is an open-air retail space. This much anticipated lifestyle center couldn’t afford to interrupt its activity for the time of public lighting works. Sunna Design’s solar street lamps once again emerged as the best answer.
In the western suburbs of Algiers, Chéraga’s Garden City mall is intended to welcome a large number of visitors during both day and night times. Lighting of the shopping center surroundings was therefore essential to this real estate project. Sunna Design intelligent and autonomous solar street lamps adapt to diverse needs, here the lighting of a parking lot as well as streets, roads and footpaths.
Over a hundred solar solutions were rolled out in Chéraga, iSSL Maxi Area and iSSL Maxi Road street lamps as well as some Totem smart poles, all guaranteeing lighting 365 days a year without blackout.
Garden City’s opening is a highlight for the Chéraga area, and it was therefore inconceivable to close the shopping center while installing a public lighting system.
Sunna Design street lamps quick installation, less than 10 minutes, was another argument in favor of these solar solutions. The logistics that comes with lighting works is simplified by these autonomous street lamps, which do not require to be connected to the grid and have little heavy equipment. The installation cost is also reduced, thanks to limited handling and operations.
Algiers’ Garden City shopping mall was designed down to the aesthetics of its buildings, reminding casbahs in very contemporary lines. It was thus crucial to have harmonious public lighting equipments around the mall.
Sunna Design solar solutions’ refined design was a plus for this project. The sober look of iSSL street lamps fits into the urban environment, while the elegant lines of the Totem smart poles blends in perfectly with the surroundings of the shopping center.
